The food was prompt & tasteful. The decor and lighting was awesome and provided for a friendly environment. I also felt as if the wait staff were attentive from table side staff all the way to the place where you made your payment. The only thing that I'd say is maybe trying to expand the salad boat a little more. Other than that I'd give this place 4 stars!

This place was great. It was clean, the staff was friendly, you could smell the food down the street and it all tasted incredible. We got the chicken scratch bowl and ham/beans/hush puppies. The coffee was strong, the tea was sweet and the prices were definitely reasonable! Highly recommend getting off the beaten path and checking this one out.

This is a great restaurant. Cozy atmosphere, great food, & great service. My only complaints would be the smell, it's not a stinky smell it's just a VERY strong potpourri smell that never fails to give me a headache & bc of that I try to avoid eating there, but it's a family fav & sometimes there's no avoiding it. Also, the shrimp scampi tastes like black jelly bean & it's a thick gravy sauce. That definitely needs to be changed. Other than those two things it is an awesome place to eat.

Ick. The food is canned or frozen. Service is lacking. Ever heard of chicken and dumplings served in a bread bowl? Holy cow what a mess. Main course comes out before appetizers. Once chance at drinks, refills are hard to get. If you like salty food, this is the place for you.

Traditional, home cooking. The food tastes absolutely amazing. However, it didn't agree with me at all! Also, the service was pretty bad. I don't know if it is always like that though. I've only been there once.

Best froglegs I've had in quite a long time. A bit light on the weight, but the taste was amazing. I could tell their cook knows what he's doing. Frog legs are a delicate thing. Too long in the fryer and they are tough, not long enough and they are chewy. These were perfect. The service was friendly and attentive. This combination is much apreciated and is entirely too rare today.

If I could have given this place a half star, I would have been happy to do so. We had driven past this place several times when visiting our weekend home in DeSoto, but had never been. It should have been a hint as to the quality of service when the hostess, as she was seating us, dug around to pull her pants up, since we could see waaayy too much of her rear end. When we walked in, we saw a few large tables (6-10) being served family-style with platters piled with shrimp, chicken and fish, so we chose the family-style all-you-can-eat combo dinner. Many, many minutes later when we got our food , we received one platter with 8 pieces of shrimp, and one each of chicken and fish, covered with a huge pile of fries, for 2 adults. I felt like we had to beg for soda refills...actually we DID have to beg, as the server acted like refills were a huge favor she was doing for us. When she asked us if we wanted more chicken/shrimp/fish, we said yes to fish & shrimp, got 5 pieces of shrimp on a small plate, and she asked "will this be enough?" Seriously. Did anyone train this girl? So, the food was maybe a 1 on a scale of 5 (I'm pretty sure everything came straight from cans and the freezer) but the service, negative 5. We tipped 20% because the other diners looked like they would eat and run, but this would never fly if it wasn't the only restaurant in the area. It was beyond bad, almost a caricature of a bad restaurant.

My wife and I ate here after a leisurely drive back from the river. We could not find anything wrong with the place. The servers, while not offering to rub anyone's bunions, were exactly what I have come to expect from small town dining, pleasant and reasonably prompt. I enjoy eating where people are not sucking up to you to maximize their tip. The food was fantastic! I got the chicken and dumplings, and my wife got the catfish. We were both thrilled. The bread bowl was great, the fried okra was obviously hand breaded and fried to perfection. The green beans, I know they are just green beans - this is where you would be WRONG, were amazing. I have not had a dining experience so good for so little since I was young and living in Iowa. Attention to detail rather than simply trying to shine the butts of their customers is why I am a repeat customer. If you require "special" treatment, this is not the place for you and you should consider only eating in larger or metropolitan areas. If you want to be treated like family, you know, like one of the members of your family that actually like you would treat you if you stopped by for dinner, this is a great place to eat. I LOVE THIS PLACE.

The food is great and the service even better. You can't go any place better in the area for sea food.
